Simple, comfortable clothes will often bring the best results. Large logos and busy prints can detract from the person being photographed. That said, bright colors and prints can be used to your advantage, particularly when individuals are being photographed.
If groups are being photographed, it is often good to coordinate clothing. Simple, neutral colors are often the best choices for these types of sessions. Jeans and khakis photograph well and are easy to coordinate.
The most important thing to remember is comfort. You should wear things that you are comfortable in and that reflect your own personal style. The more comfortable you are, the more relaxed and natural the portraits.
