Just over three weeks until our vacation! It's creeping up ever so steadily.
I was so excited about the Chargers' victory yesterday. Paul was not. Go Chargers! Now, I just want them to beat the Patriots and we'll be set. The Colts and Patriots are two teams I do not like for some reason. I was also happy about the Giants beating the Cowboys too. So nice.
It is snowing outside right now. Big flakes that are quite lazily falling down. I love it, but hope it doesn't get too slick for Paul's drive home from work later on.
In other news, I am going to tell you a little story. It's a story about a computer that has been running rather sluggishly for awhile. However, it still runs fine. The cord is now the problem. The rubber coating in a couple of spots has been coming off a bit-at the places where the cord gets bent a lot (even though we try to prevent doing it as much as possible). And sometimes, when I plug it into the computer it sends off sparks. Which is probably from the old wiring in this house. And last night I grabbed the cord to plug it in and it started hissing. And then it stopped. And then when I plugged it in, it didn't work. And the box made a very faint, low hum that I had never heard before. And so, our computer cannot be charged. And our battery drains very quickly (like a matter of 3 hours or less). And so, we decided to purchase a new one. A bottom of the line Compaq that is basically the new version of our old one. Annoying, annoying expense. Frustrating that it happened right before our vacation. And yet, it is so nice. We'll probably get a new cord from Amazon or e-Bay (for the other computer), but it just made more sense to replace our four year old computer with a new one that isn't going to die on us anytime soon (because the other one will probably die at some point this year-so we were planning on having to get a new laptop at some point anyway). So annoying and so nice all at once. It's a love/hate relationship. We were just hoping to be able to hold off a while longer. Thankfully, I have everything backed up already and before it died last night I backed up our Word documents.
