Not much going on around here today. Church was again, very nice. We really are enjoying it. This week we got a card from the associate pastor, Lisa. Which was very nice. And then the pastor stopped by yesterday to drop off a mug. Love the personal nature of it. Love being known. They know our names. They recognize us when we walk through the door. And they do everything possible to show they truly are glad we are there. We're planning to go to the evening service tonight. It really depends on Paul's homework (he has quite a bit to get done), but I think we'll head that way. Thankfully, their revival is during Holy Week, which is also Paul's spring break. So, we will both be able to attend (I was already planning on going). I'm especially excited about the Seder meal on Maundy Thursday. I've never had the passover meal before, and would love to incorporate it into our yearly traditions. I think we've found a church that we can actually call our "home" church and mean the home part. I actually enjoy going. And that hasn't happened for literally years.
I'm leaving you with a little quizzy type of thing. I love things like this. If you don't, don't read it. It's just a little slice of me. Have an awesome day and enjoy the rest of your time off of work (or with your loved ones that are off of work). :-D

Can you believe it? Only two weeks until Christmas. I haven't even gotten Paul's stocking (and most likely, mine) stuff yet. He always gets razor blades for his razor (they last all year) and some other little things. I'll have to drive him to work tomorrow and go get those.
It is pouring rain here today-at least it's not slippery. I slept in because of a vicious headache that planted itself in my brain today. Wawa did really well, laying in his crate and waiting for me to get up (I had taken him out at 7:30). When I got up at ten he went out again and then we played fetch in the kitchen for an hour or so. I feel really bad because the weather is horrible and Carter isn't here-so I could actually take him to the park if it wasn't so nasty out. Maybe tomorrow. Even if it was snow, I could take him there to play. He just has so much energy and I want him to get the exercise he needs. I guess it's a good thing that we have such a large kitchen.
Today's ten on Tuesday is actually going to be a bit more than ten things. It's a quizzy thing (you know how I love those), so here it is (you may just learn something new about me-and if you're in a sharing mood, please do):
5 Things I was doing 5 years ago...
1. Attending the University of Detroit Mercy-pre-med major.
2. Dating Paul.
3. Getting ready to go home for Christmas break.
4. Losing tons of weight (I got down to 140).
5. Talking to Paul on the phone-constantly.
5 Things on my to do list today...(in no particular order)
1. Play with Wawa.
2. Sweep/vaccuum the floors
3. Finish catching up on my Christmas journal.
4. Clean up the kitchen table/piano
5. Take a nice, relaxing, hot bath.
5 Snacks that I enjoy...
1. Nachos (or just chips and salsa)
2. Crackers (with or without cream cheese)
3. Fresh vegetables (carrots, celery, cucumber, broccoli, green peppers-any and all of them)
4. Cupcakes
5. Pretzels
5 Things I would do if I were a billionaire...
1. Adopt bunches of children (something like ten or eleven-in all seriousness).
2. Hire a personal trainer and chef to help me become healthy.
3. Get the photography equipment and training that I need/want.
4. Build as many wells as possible in countries without clean water, and fund the programs teaching the villages to sustain it.
5. Travel the world doing missions work and meeting those members of my Christian family that live their faith out in an extremely tangible way (I especially want to go to North Korea).
5 Bad habits...
1. Drinking pop.
2. Thinking/talking of myself negatively.
3. Wasting time doing meaningless things.
4. Not eating on a regular schedule.
5. Not controlling my thoughts/words as well as I should.
5 Places I have lived...
1. Lowell, Michigan
2. Westland, Michigan
3. Inkster, Michigan
4. Manteno, Illinois
5. Kankakee, Illinois
5 Jobs I have had...
1. Med-tech at nursing home.
2. Resident Aide at nursing home.
3. Activity Director at nursing home.
4. Babysitter (many times over)
5. Photographer
5 Things you may not know about me...
1. If I get past a certain point of being hungry, I will refuse to eat.
2. More than anywhere else Paul and I have lived, I consider this "home"-it never felt like home in either of our Michigan apartments and although the Manteno apartment felt somewhat like home, it just doesn't compare to here.
3. I love to paint (artistically).
4. Sometimes I can't stand to be touched (like when I have a really bad headache) and other times I crave it.
5. I still love to do childish things (snowball fights, build snowmen, snow angels, make believe, build with blocks, etc)
And that's my list. Have a wonderful Tuesday!

I am in Michigan, so I leave you with these fun little questions.
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper (this year I used Kraft paper-and some gift bags too)
2 . Real tree or Artificial? Artificial-I love that I can put it up early and it will last as long as I want it-and I don't have one more thing to clean up after (Carter, Wawa and Paul are enough :-)

The Wobblin' Goblin with the broken broom
Could never fly to high.
'Cause every time he'd take off,
Another piece would break off,
And soon he'd be a-danglin' in the sky.
Each evening just as he would leave the ground,
The radio would say:
"Control Tower to Goblin,
Your broomstick's a-wobblin',
You'd better make a landing right away."
It soon got so he could only fly
When the witches took him piggyback.
And then one day he used his brain,
And bought himself an aero-plane.
Now if you look for him on Halloween,
You'll see him zip and zoom.
No harm can befall him,
No longer can we call him
The Wobblin' Goblin With the Broken Broom
